Selling points:
- Sea Salt Spray for creating hair volume instantly; No more “FLAT” hair anymore.
- Builds a base structure in the hair and able to bunch up the hair nicely enough to aid subsequent styling (e.g. wax/clay); Works well with most products
- Easiness to style and easiness to wash off as the main ingredient is only sodium chloride (salt)
- On lazy days, spray with REF 323 will give you a tousled and casual look. Saltwater spray can be used on damp/dry hair. For best results, use on damp hair.
- Suitable for people with short to medium hair length; Also suitable for females with permed hair
Something you should also know:
- Works in such a way that it dries out your hair slightly (not in a damaging manner); Absorbs excess oils in the hair especially in SG’s humid climate
- The main difference between REF 323 and OS sea spray is the holding factor and dryness. While OS comes with higher holding factor than REF 323, it is slightly drier than REF 323 too.
- Sea Salt Spray is different from the typical hair spray (which is used as finish), as it is is used for creating hair volume.
- Most asians have straight and heavy hair and this explains why our hair are often “FLAT” when dry
- How long can this last (daily usage): 3 to 5 months
- Scale (to measure the various aspects) is from 1 to 5, where 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest
The ingredients:
Aqua, Alcohol Denat, Sodium Chloride, Magnesium Sulfate.Sorbitol.PVP, Laureth-12 PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil. Panthenol, PEG-25 PABA.Diazolidinyl Urea, DM Hydantoin, Parfum
What TPJ got to say: Recommended for people with straight hair and often frowned over problems such as hair being too flat; Creates hair volume instantly with fantastic results. 😀

Been using OS Sea Spray all this while and although it served me well, there are times where I felt that it made my hair too stiff for achieving the style I wanted. Decided to try out this Ref 323 spray since it was described to be less dry than OS sea spray. And yes indeed, it does give a softer feel but with lesser holding strength than OS sea spray. With this, I can achieve more tousled look for my hair than the OS sea spray as the hair is more pliable. It smells pretty similar to OS sea spray (think salty ocean smell) and also washes off easily with shampoo. I won’t say Ref 323 or OS sea spray is better than another, as I think that both sprays complement each other with their different levels of hold and dryness for different finishing look. It’s a great sea salt spray that will definitely create volume to your hair and make styling with wax/clay easier after.

I have used a number of sea salt sprays (and all existing 3 off ThePrettyJerk) and by far, this is the best one for me. Best in terms of smell, lower level of dryness and just the right amount of hold; it smells similar to OS but has a lighter hold which is best for my medium length hair (6 inches or so). I finish off with just a slight wax (unbelievably little) for a final touselled look. I never thought I could find something that work this well with my wax but hey, I did in this.

Tried this alternative to the OS SSS (have used it myself) after the recommendation by JunHong. True to the description, the main difference between this seasalt spray and the OS one is the feeling of dryness in the hair after blowdrying. This product gives a slightly more natural finish, while the OS spray gives a more gritty, beachy texture that many users have gotten used to. (It’s not a bad thing! It’s just the finish of the product) I guess it all comes down to personal preference. Hold wise, I think this is very decent and can definitely match up to the OS variant. OS users won’t be disappointed. I’d highly recommend this to everyone looking to achieve some really awesome prestyling volume and also to users who have used the OS SSS and are looking to try something new. You’ll love the product!
Additionally, Junhong kindly sent me a sample of Kordial brand Nourishing Cream, which I found to be wonderful when used as a leave in conditioner. (It contains jojoba oil, which is beneficial for hair growth and moisturising properties) Hair feels really moisturised and nourished in the morning after sleeping in it, after just one use. Definitely a product to look out for especially if you use heat to style or blowdry your hair on a regular basis! This product is going to make sure your hair gets back all the nutrients and moisture it needs
